Day #561 - Becoming

Building on, or escaping from?

I had a conversation with Meadow yesterday where she suddenly sounded like a different person: at two years old i’m used to her changing, but this was different. It was like her comprehension and connection had shifted, and she was narrating a little story.

She is becoming more of a person, with a connection to her history, but the imagination to shape her future.

The idea of ‘becoming’ is important, as it gives us the disturbance to take action: if we want to ‘become’ something, we must inherently leave something else behind - the older version of our ‘self’.

Use your sixty seconds today to consider what you are becoming?

In this reflective space, is this new ‘self’ defined by doing something new, or ceasing to be something old? Are you building on, or escaping from?

Or perhaps - like me - you are not sure. I think i continue to change, but i’m entirely unclear what i will become through that process.
