The blueberries are ripening.
My imagined lifestyle as a smallholder is slightly limited by the fact that i just have two blueberry bushes, both in pots, and both somewhat bonsai. I was not aware that they were a dwarf variety when i planted the, but there you go.
For one or two weeks a year i get to enjoy fresh blueberries. I harvested a grand total of twenty four last year, because the birds got the rest.
It’s a dilemma: i could net them and eat more myself, but the birds live in the garden too. So we share.
Some things we want for ourselves, but others we should share.
