The first apple seed has sprouted! Last week you will remember (Day #607) I idly planted out some seeds, and the first of them has broken through the soil. A tiny sapling, carrying the empty husk of the seed on top as it climbs.
The conversation we had last week was about hope: I planted the seeds in hope. And now it is a conversation of joy.
The potential contained within the seed has become the promise of the new tree. Last night it was maybe 2mm high, and this morning it’s perhaps 4mm. Rapid growth from an idea to something bursting with life.
Use your sixty seconds today to consider the joy you find in simple things. And the joy you give to others, or find in their company.
Perhaps we could be criticised that this is tangential to any conversation about work. That this is not a serious dialogue. But it’s worth noting how the smallest things can give us the most energy, and energy is certainly important.
