As we cycled to school along the beach this morning, in the glorious sunshine, River was full of questions.
“Why does the water sparkle?”
“How did they build the pier?”
“Does the sun like shadows?”
Then, after some consideration, he said to me “one day, when we are sailing at sunset, can we follow the sun to see where it goes? To see what is behind the sunset”
This struck me as probably the same conversation that sat behind almost every foundation myth and mythology of societies around the world. A curiosity as to what lies beyond.
Use your sixty seconds today in curiosity.
It does not need to be as dramatic as following the sun, but use the moment to allow they busyness of today to fall away, and simply to live in wonder.
Is it productive? Probably not, but maybe it’s a reminder of context, and how widening our lens can let us think differently.
