Yesterday I was at the Open University in Milton Keynes, sharing new work on ‘Leadership as Trespass’ at the Business Agility Conference.
In one of the breaks, someone came over to me. Not someone from the conference, just within the university, introducing themselves as part of this Community - our community in practice - and sharing some kind words.
It meant a great deal to me: this is fragile work, personal work, and whilst I describe us as a community - and greatly value the interactions online - there was just some energy in actually meeting someone ‘through’ it, and in sharing a few moments of ‘togetherness’.
I use is as a prompt today to consider energy.
Use your sixty seconds to consider what gives it, or takes it from you, within your day today.
There was no reason for this person to come to me: we could have remained connected and yet strangers. But something compels us to connect, and perhaps part of it is that sharing of energy.
